Part 3 The countries of south America.
There are 14 countries that make up south America. I won't go into a whole lot of detail on them but i will leave a link for each country in case you want to find out a little bit more about them. I am going to split this into three parts with 5 countries in each so links will be left for countries discussed.Though i will cover population, size, capital, currency, dialect,imports, exports, climate and its location. i will leave the list of links at the end of this article.
This will be in order of largest population:
Brasil: has an estimated population of 201,032,714 million people. its capital is Brasilia, though Sao Paulo is the largest city. It is 8,515,767 km2 in size and is located on the east coast of South America but it stretches as far inland as the Andes but much of this is covered by the Amazon rainforest.Its only official language is Portuguese but many other languages are spoken by inland tribes and small communities. There currency is the Real, and there main imports are oils, cars and car parts, medicene and coal. Its biggest exports are aircraft, electrical equipment, coffee and iron ore.
Colombia: has an estimated population of 47,425,437 million people and the country covers an area of 1,141,748km2 and its capital and largest city is Bogotá. it is located in the North west of the continent. It has a warm climate though it is a very high altitude country. There official language is Castilian but 69 other languages and dialects are spoken. Colombia is rich in natural resources and there main exports include oil, precious stones, mineral fuels, forest products and meat.Theremain imports are industrial equipment, transportation,cnsumer goods and chemicals.
Argentina: has an estimated population of 41,660,417 million people. and spans 2,780,400 km2 Its capital is Buenos Aires. Its offical language is Spanish and its climate differs the higher north it is warmer and south is much colder but is rainy in the majority. There currency is Peso and there main exports are Food products motor parts, phones, beverages and biodiesel. They mainly import machinery, petroleum, natural gas and plastics.
Peru: has an estimated population of 30,475,144 million people and spans 1,285,216km2 in the north west of the continent. Its capital is Lima and its official languages areSpanish, Quechua and Aymara. Its currency is Nuevo sol andthere main exports are copper, gold, zinc, textiles and fish meal. They also import telephones petroleum, chemicals, colour TV sets and wheat.
Veneuela: has an estimated population 28,946,101 million people and spans 916,445km2 in the north of the continent. Its capital is Caracas and there official language is Spanish.venezuela is extremly bio diverse and therefore its climate differs form place to place but they are all pretty warm. there currency is the Bolivar fuerte and there main exports are petroleum, steel, rice, corn and fish. there main imports are livestock, raw materials, iron, transport equipment and construction materials.
